As the title may suggest, this is another in the category of Party Tapes. This is much longer than the East Orange Tape and presents much more of a variety. Most of the songs are traditional folk and blues songs and the obligatory smattering of Guthrie and Fuller songs. There are no original songs yet at this point and Dylan is still concentrating on his catalog of folk standards.

The session is pretty loose and informal. The designation "party tape" seems particularly appropriate here because Dylan is obviously performing for the amusement of himself and his friends. Some interesting songs here: Railroad Boy, Pretty Polly, Pastures of Plenty, He's Young But Daily Growin' (aka Long Time A-Growin'). Performances range from ragged to excellent. Most common circulating tapes were poor in sound, but the recent Minnesota Tapes 3-CD set presents this material in excellent sound, marred somewhat by a very loud ground hum running throughout.
